Adult - Skier Self Evaluation Guide
Adult Skier Present Ability Goal
Level 1

First time skier. Learn basic skills; gliding on snow, turning & stopping, possibly ride a lift.
Level 2

You can stop and do basic turns. Refine turning skills; learn linked snowplow turns and how to ride a lift.
Level 3

You can ride beginner lift and make snowplow turns confidently to control speed. Learn to skid skis parallel at the end of turn, gain confidence on steeper slopes.
Level 4

You are confident riding lifts and can bring your skis parallel at the end of turns. Improve skills to ski parallel confidently on Intermediate terrain.
Level 5

You can make skidded parallel turns on Intermediate terrain. Refine style and technique to make rounded parallel turns with pole plant and ski easy moguls.
Mountain Workshop

Minimum standard: You can make short parallel turns with pole plant in all intermediate terrain and confidently ski most of the mountain. Sample topics: Dynamic short turns, refine carving skills, fall line mogul skiing, adapting to ungroomed conditions.

Kids - Skier Self Evaluation Guide
Kids Skier Present Ability Goal
Level 1

First time skier. Familiarisation with snow environment; learn how to stop, some direction change and how to ride the carpet.
Level 2

You can stop & do basic turns. Refine turning skills, gain confidence and learn to ride various lifts.
Level 3

You can ride a beginner lift, control speed with strong snowplow turns. Consolidate snowplow turns and develop balance over the outside ski.
Level 4
